Steps to reproduce:
- Open zip archive with a text file in it
- Double click on the text file so it is launched
- File opens successfully in text application
- Close notepad
- Try to close jZip
- Program is "not responding" and needs to be terminated.

Hey palmandy,

I tried to reproduce the bug, using exact steps, but couldn't.
I was able to open open and close the text file (using notepad) and was able to close jzip without any trouble.

I also tried to edit the text in notepad, then save it, or even tried deleting the text file from the archive and close jzip.
All operations went smoothly and jzip didn't hang.

Could you please provide additional information, regarding your OS?
- Operating System (xp, vista, etc.)
- Service pack (none, sp1, sp2, etc.)
- Exact jZip version (just in case...)
- Any additional information you can think about, that might be helpful.

I just tried it again and now it works. I tested it 3 times while writing the bug report and the error was repeatable but now it has gone away.

Perhaps I hadn't rebooted when I installed or something.

weird - you do not need to reboot. Let us know if it happens again.

I just found out what it is. It appears to be the check for update functionality. The software is not closing properly if I select "Check for updates". I open a zip file and then try to close the software without doing anything. The software says "not responding" and I have to do an end-task.

Andrew.

Hey Andrew,

The issue you reported will be fixed in the next version of jzip (v1.2) and should also be fixed in one of the upcoming beta releases.

Hi

The same issue (check for updates) applies if you just open an archive and then try to close it without actually doing anything (ie without extracting a file, etc).

FYI
