When i start JZip, and then close it directly over the X in the Window title, JZip hangs, i have to manually kill JZip over the task manager.

This happens on Windows 2000 SP4 and on Vista Enterprise.

Any Ideas?

ThanX
Oliver

Hmmmmm Interesting, can anybody with Win 2000 and Vista confirm this, I'm Using Win2k (WinXP :)) and can't reproduce the event

I tried to reproduce the bug using jzip 1.1 on vista ultimate, but it worked fine.
However, when i tried to do the same on WIN2K sp4, i was able to reproduce.
jzip was stuck, if i tried to close it, immediately after it was launched.

We've encountered this bug before, in slightly different circumstances.
it is related to the update check service\process which is still running, while trying to close the jzip application.
this issue will be fixed in the next stable release of jzip.

In the mean time, there are two solutions:
1) Disable the "Check for update" feature (click "view - configuration - uncheck the option "automatically check for updates"
2) if you're feeling adventurous, try the jzip 1.2 BETA. this issue should be fixed there.

Thanx for the Tip.

I wanted to try it on my W2K machine. I changed the chechbox with the automatic update option, but unfortunately i'm not able to close jzip any more. So i have to kill it.
And then i the chechbox is activated, cause the program didn't had the chance to save the new setting.

I will try the latest 1.2, hopefully this will work better...

Just download the latest 1.2 beta...
This one doesn't start on my W2K machine, it requires UxThemes.dll...

Now i'm stuck...

After playing around with Jzip 1.1 a while, i noticed that i have to wait one or two minutes, after i change the checkbox with the automatic update. Then i was able to close JZip and now everything works as expected :D

Hey grassol,

I'm sure you've noticed that both issues have already been resolved.
in any case, if you haven't done so, you can download the new jzip version from www.jzip.com

let us know if you encounter any further problem.
