The new free jZip 1.2 is out of beta.
You can visit the jzip site (www.jzip.com) and download the new version.

(Currently jZip 1.2 is available in english only. but Additional localized versions are soon to follow.)

Is jZip 1.2 based on 7-Zip 4.57?

You can always check with which library jZip is linked by simply running jZip and opening the Help | About jZip dialog. To you question jZip 1.2 uses 7-Zip 4.55 library.
