What you could do is give the windows a try in Wine (http://www.winehq.org), I would but both my setups (my desktop and my laptop) are running windows atm (I miss you ubuntu, Curse you 56k dialup)

Ohh I have I have the latest release just can't access updates due to the fact my desktop is not hooked to the net (too slow on dialup) so I use my parents Box, Plus I know my around Ubuntu as I designed for a little while Ubuntummc ;)
