Just installed jzip (version 1.3.0.56310 on Vista SP1).

I noticed a few things :

1. I did not see any option to pick up the yahoo bar during install process so the yahoo bar is installed in ANY case. This is NOT a good idea and it is a serious annoyance.

2. First run of firefox : Firefox tells me it's not the default browser any longer and needs to know if it still is. Same remark than #1.

3. First run of Thunderbird : same thing than for Firefox. Same remark than #1 and #2.

I haven't had a chance to use jzip yet but those 'little' details sound to me like HUGE issues. Please fix them because right night it cripples badly the program.

I complained about these same issues several days ago. It also changes your homepage to the jZip homepage. These are extremely poor practices for a company trying to build a user base. They do offer a corporate version that doesn't have the bundled crap, but the main download link doesn't take you to it. I think it's ironic that they tout their software as "No Adware / No Spyware / No Pop-Ups / No Trojans" but yet they install things & change settings without giving the user an option. I just don't understand it...

I did never see, that a software has been announced with "Free Feature: Adware / Spyware / Pop-Ups / Trojans". That's the way it goes.

jZip appears to be one of those projects, which look promising at the first glance and show the ugly face afterwards. It seems, that this deployment is the truth, whenever sentinel (the admin here) says "I'm still alive."
