Well, before jZip i've used WinRAR and PowerArchiver.
PowerArchiver was the first one. I drop it for WinRAR because it was slow. Maybe my computer was slow, don't know :P
RAR archive was good for me. But I was looking support for 7-Zip type.
So I've found this great piece of software jZip and fall in love with it... :D

I used WinZip 6.x trough 8.x, for a time WinRAR (don't know what version) and 7-Zip since 4.43beta. In embedded DOS systems I'm using InfoZip/Unzip, some tar/gzip/bzip2 ports and now for most things 7-Zip Win32 console version (7za.exe) (w/ a software called HX DOS extender this Win32 program runs fine in plain DOS w/out porting).

On Windows systems I used often only Plus!'s/WinMe's/WinXP's integrated zipfldr.dll to access zip files, but if one need to open some other formats or want to CREATE compressed files (w/ high compres. ratio), he would need more than this.

Now I'm using jZip and newest 7-Zip on Windows NT (mean 2k, XP, blah blah) systems. 7-Zip is not as easy to use as jZip, but the format dlls are updated and 7z.exe (command line) understands same parameters as 7za.exe.

On older systems w/ Win98 etc. and less ressources 7-Zip must do the job w/out jZip.

Prefered format on all machines (even those with DOS): 7z!

Before I found 7-zip, the only archiver I was enthusiastic about was Powerarchiver, because it seemed to have the most formats. Though now I know XAD can use the most formats. When I found the compression rate of 7-zip, I became a er... devout? 7-zip follower, and I'm still not quite shifting over to jZip until a subversion comes out with latest beta as core..

Tugzip, most recently. But it has a few compatibility problems with Windows x64 editions and unzipping-over-the-network. Also 7-zip (indeed, backwards GUI).

When I first started using PC's I used WinZip (who didn't?) then I moved onto WinRar. In recent years I switched to 7-Zip and now use Jzip on my laptop although I wish they would hurry up and implement the jZip in context menu when you drag a compressed file across to a new folder.

PowerArchiver, ever since it was released.
Have been paying close attention to 7zip for a while. Tried the 7zip client, and found it to be clunky. Then, went back to PowerArchiver, and used the 7zip format once it was implemented into PowerArchiver.
Recently noticed jZip mentioned on 7zip's website, so here I am to check it out!
